From January 1, 2018 on, the rules for mortgage loans will change. The maximum mortgage loan will be 100 percent of the value of the home. These new rules are in effect for everyone who receives a binding mortgage offer on or after this date.
Lower cap for mortgage
Every year the norms change for mortgage loans used for financing a home. The maximum loan-to-home-value ratio will be 100 percent in 2018. This means that possible extra costs will no longer will be covered by a mortgage. This new norm will be implemented to protect home owners against over-crediting and to keep mortgages affordable.
